Ruben Amorim’s future has become clearer as the Portuguese manager seeks to move on from his time as head coach at Manchester United.

Amorim, who aimed to secure a European qualification for the team this season, was dismissed in January as indicated by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

During his tenure, the 41-year-old averaged 1.4 points per game, securing 25 wins, 23 losses, and 15 draws. This performance starkly contrasts with his previous records at clubs such as Sporting CP (2.3 points per game) and Braga (2.4 points per game), highlighting a noticeable decline in effectiveness.

Michael Carrick has taken over on an interim basis and improved the team’s performance to an average of 2.2 points per game under his management.

Despite this, fans have continued to focus on Amorim, with DAZN even suggesting he may become the next manager at Chelsea.

However, these speculations have been refuted, as A Bola reports that Amorim plans to spend next season enhancing his skills, engaging with coaches he admires, and broadening his knowledge.

Moreover, it has been stated that Amorim is not entirely opposed to taking on another managerial role before the summer of 2027, and a return to Portugal remains a possibility.

Amorim was recently seen at Clube Atletico e Cultural (CAC), a club where he once played as a youth. While this visit seemed informal, it indicates that he is currently active in Portugal.

Benfica has also been linked with Amorim, but a transfer appears unlikely unless Jose Mourinho departs at season’s end.

With the latest reports, Ruben Amorim’s path forward seems focused on enhancing his managerial skills and preparing for his next opportunity.
