Manchester United continues its squad rebuild this summer as the club seeks to reclaim its status at the top of English football, with 13 years having passed since their last Premier League title.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who recently took over at Old Trafford, acknowledged that it could take the club six transfer windows to consistently compete at the highest level.

Last summer marked an attacking overhaul, featuring the addition of proven Premier League talents such as Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, along with Benjamin Sesko, who joined as the new first-choice striker.

However, the club is not done revitalising its attack, as they are looking to secure a new left winger this summer.

While Manchester United has been linked to RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, another target from Aston Villa has emerged.

Manchester United Prioritizes Morgan Rogers as Key Attacking Target

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Manchester United has identified Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers as its top choice for the left-wing position this summer.

The club aims to bring in a new winger capable of rotating with Matheus Cunha on the left, making Rogers’ Premier League experience a valuable asset aligning with United’s recent transfer strategy.

Primarily an attacking midfielder, Rogers is versatile enough to perform on both left and right wings. This season, he has played on the left 16 times, scoring five goals and providing four assists, including during United’s 2-1 defeat against Villa at Villa Park.

However, the Italian outlet also notes that Aston Villa is seeking “twice the €50 million figure” that AC Milan has set for Leao, putting Rogers’ valuation at £86 million (€100 million).

This is in line with the price tag RB Leipzig has placed on Yan Diomande, making Rafael Leao the least expensive option among the three. Nonetheless, it is worth noting that Rogers is the only candidate with Premier League experience.

While this experience is not the sole factor in United’s transfer strategy, the fact that Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens both made their Premier League debuts at Old Trafford this season gives Morgan Rogers a competitive edge leading into the summer.
