Celtic Wins Critical Match Against Hibernian as Title Race Intensifies

On Sunday afternoon, Celtic picked up a crucial three points against Hibernian at Easter Road, courtesy of a second half winner from super sub Kelechi Iheanacho, just two minutes after he had been introduced to the action.

Then, on May bank holiday Monday, Hearts beat Rangers 2-1 from behind, all but eliminating Danny Rohl’s side from the title race. Truth be told, a draw would have been the ideal result from a Celtic point of view, but ah well.

This means that there were two. It is now a straight shootout between Hearts and Celtic for the title. The Edinburgh side are three points clear of the Hoops with three games remaining, but the two teams will face off at Celtic Park on the final day, in what could be a winner takes all clash. As close to a final as you could get in a regular season game.

However, there are two rounds before then. It’s safe to say that Motherwell will play a big part in this race, like they did after defeating Rangers 2-1 last weekend. They host Hearts this Saturday, at 8pm BST.

Then, next Wednesday, they will host Celtic, also an 8pm kick off. So they will certainly have their say. As for both teams’ other game before the final day, Hearts will host Falkirk at the same time Martin O’Neill’s side play Motherwell, whilst there is the small matter of a home Old Firm for the Hoops on Sunday at noon. All to play for, very exciting.
