Sir Alex Ferguson Receives Hospital Care After Health Scare During Match

Sir Alex Ferguson remains a Manchester United icon, continuing to support the team after his tenure as manager. The 84-year-old took on the role of global ambassador for the club following his retirement, but this position was cut last year as part of cost-saving measures implemented by INEOS.

Despite stepping down from his official role, Ferguson often attends games, and his appearance at Old Trafford for the recent clash against Liverpool was expected. However, he did not complete the match as he was taken to the hospital after experiencing health issues.

The decision to transport Ferguson to the hospital was precautionary, following an assessment by medical staff at the stadium. A source familiar with the situation later informed the press that Ferguson is “okay,” in good spirits, and feeling better.

Although the news is reassuring, the incident meant that Ferguson missed witnessing Manchester United’s 3-2 victory, which secured them a spot in the Champions League and placed them in contention for a top-three finish.

United now requires just three more points to secure third place overall under manager Michael Carrick, following a season of recovery from previous disappointments. With qualification for the Champions League confirmed, Ferguson can look forward to European football at Old Trafford next season, as the club anticipates an additional £100 million in revenue from the tournament.

According to reports, many players are set to receive a 25% wage increase due to clauses in their contracts tied to qualifying for this prestigious competition.
