Manchester United Appoints Michael Carrick as Interim Manager After Ruben Amorim’s Exit

Manchester United made a decisive managerial change in January. The Red Devils decided to part ways with Ruben Amorim, turning to Michael Carrick as interim boss for the remainder of the season.

Since then, the impact has been clear. United have won 10 of their 14 matches under Carrick, a run that has propelled them up the table. They secured Champions League qualification following a Liverpool/”>3-2 win over Liverpool.

The turnaround has sparked growing debate over whether Carrick should be handed the role permanently. According to ESPN, Casemiro has now made his stance clear. The Brazilian midfielder believes Carrick ‘completely deserves’ the Manchester United job on a full-time basis. This comes after transforming the team’s fortunes in a short space of time. “In my opinion, he completely deserves it,” Casemiro said. “He’s a guy who has already demonstrated that he has very good qualities to be a Manchester United coach.”

Carrick stepped into a difficult situation midway through the campaign, with performances inconsistent and pressure building around the squad. However, results quickly improved under his leadership. United not only climbed the table but also picked up statement wins against top opposition. This shows a level of control and confidence that had been missing earlier in the season. Casemiro pointed to Carrick’s understanding of the club as a key factor behind that shift. As a former player who won major honours at Old Trafford, Michael Carrick has brought both experience and familiarity to the role.

Despite the praise, Casemiro stressed that expectations at Manchester United remain high. He insisted that while securing Champions League football is a positive step, it cannot be the end goal for a club of United’s stature. Alongside his comments on Carrick, Casemiro has previously spoken about his future. The midfielder confirmed he will leave the club this summer, bringing an end to his four-year spell. His focus now is on finishing strongly and departing on good terms after playing a key role in United’s late-season resurgence.
