Mason Mount to Participate in 2026 Maddison Invitational Charity Golf Event
Manchester United is experiencing a resurgence under interim manager Michael Carrick, as the club has climbed into the Premier League’s top three and secured Champions League qualification. This turnaround has lifted morale at Old Trafford, fueling optimism for the next season, especially with several new signings anticipated during the summer transfer window.
As preparations for the upcoming campaign continue, some United players are beginning to branch out beyond football as the off-season approaches.
James Maddison Signs Mason Mount
One player set to make a notable appearance is Mason Mount, who has been invited to participate in the 2026 edition of The Maddison Invitational, as announced on the tournament’s Instagram page.
The annual charity golf event, organized by James Maddison, will take place on May 26 at The Centurion Club, featuring various footballers, celebrities, and sports figures.
Launched in 2023, the tournament has established itself as one of football’s prominent charity events, employing an 18-hole pro-am format to raise funds for important causes.
The inaugural event benefited Sophie’s Sparkle Fund, a charity set up in memory of Sophie Taylor to support bone cancer research and family assistance initiatives.
In 2024, the fundraiser backed Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, and it expanded its charitable efforts in 2025 by supporting Ladybug Lodge, Me & Dee, and Tiny Tim’s.
Mason Mount joins a distinguished guest list this year, which includes Paddy McGuinness, Joe Hart, Theo Walcott, Peter Crouch, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Harvey Barnes.
Also invited are Archie Gray, Dan Bradbury, Wes Nelson, Luke Thomas, Chris Hughes, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Marc Albrighton, Matty Cash, and Jermaine Jenas.
The United midfielder has faced a challenging season with injuries, limiting his playing time at Old Trafford.
Despite these challenges, Mount has remained active off the pitch. Last month, he organized a special Wishes United FC event alongside Make-A-Wish UK.
The England international personally funded and managed a two-day football experience for 11 children with serious health conditions at St George’s Park, where they played a match against Premier League mascots.
In March, Mount also secured a new sponsorship deal by becoming one of Mizuno’s football ambassadors, furthering his off-field endeavors.
As he looks ahead, Mount will be eager to overcome his injury setbacks and contribute more significantly to Manchester United’s efforts in the upcoming season.
