Borussia Dortmund Eyes Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic for Loan

Borussia Dortmund has emerged as a serious contender in the pursuit of Luka Vuskovic, monitoring the Tottenham defender as a potential loan target for the 2026-27 season, according to transfer insider Krrish on X.

The report indicates that Vuskovic will return to Tottenham this summer, with Hamburg having no purchase option in the loan agreement set to expire at the end of the current campaign. Once he is back in north London, the 19-year-old Croatian will consult with his agent and family to determine his next steps, as several high-profile clubs are vying for his services.

Dortmund’s interest centers on securing Vuskovic on another loan deal, ideally until the end of the 2026-27 season. The Bundesliga outfit is also interested in including a purchase option in the arrangement. However, Tottenham has made it clear they are not willing to allow any club to acquire Vuskovic permanently through a loan. This stance illustrates how highly Spurs value him, having signed the asset for approximately £12 million, a figure that has since ballooned to between £36 and £42 million.

Hamburg Seeks to Retain Vuskovic for Another Year

Hamburg, which has developed a close relationship with Vuskovic and his family throughout the season, is also eager to keep him for another year. The Croatian’s wish to someday play alongside his brother Mario, who is set to return from a doping ban in November, adds an emotional aspect to a potential move back to the Volksparkstadion that extends beyond mere football considerations.

The situation becomes even more intricate when factoring in the reported interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich for a permanent transfer. These clubs represent the pinnacle of European football, highlighting how significantly Vuskovic’s reputation has risen during a single loan season in Germany.
