Tottenham Faces Departure of Defender Radu Drăgușin as Summer Transfer Window Approaches
Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Radu Drăgușin is reportedly preparing for a possible move away from the club during the upcoming summer transfer window. The club has been contemplating his exit for some time, with earlier hopes of a departure in the winter window thwarted when the team opted against allowing a mid-season transfer.
Agent Negotiates with Serie A Teams for Tottenham Defender’s Exit
As the summer window nears, Drăgușin’s representatives are said to have opened discussions with three prominent Serie A clubs: Inter Milan, AC Milan, and AS Roma, according to a report from Sport Witness. The aim is to facilitate a transfer for the player who has seen limited playtime.
The 24-year-old Romanian defender has participated for only one minute in the last five Premier League matches, contributing to his growing dissatisfaction with his role at Tottenham.
During the January transfer window, Roma showed interest in securing Dragusin, but their offer of a loan with an option to buy was deemed insufficient by Tottenham.
According to the report, AS Roma intends to negotiate a loan that includes an obligation or conditional obligation to purchase Dragusin this summer. This arrangement would ensure Tottenham receives a set financial commitment for the defender’s departure.
However, Serie A clubs face financial constraints that limit their ability to conduct transfers comparable to those in the Premier League. This situation complicates any permanent transfer offers from Inter, Milan, or Roma, making the loan-to-buy option a more viable prospect.
RB Leipzig Emerges as a Contender for Dragusin’s Signature
Drăgușin’s time at Tottenham has been challenging, especially following his decision to join the club over Bayern Munich. Initially, he filled in when key defenders were injured, but with the arrival of Kevin Danso, he has slipped further down the depth chart, complicating his chances for consistent playtime.
In addition to the aforementioned Serie A clubs, Bundesliga side RB Leipzig has expressed interest in Dragusin. They hold sufficient financial resources to potentially facilitate a permanent transfer this summer.
As the situation develops, it appears increasingly likely that Radu Drăgușin will part ways with Tottenham this summer.
