  • Man City beats Palace 3-0 to keep pressure on Arsenal in the EPL title race

  • The Gunners remain in the lead with an easier run of fixtures ahead

  • City prepares for FA Cup showdown against Chelsea this weekend

The Premier League title race could extend to the final day unless Burnley can pull off a remarkable surprise against Arsenal at the Emirates next week. Antoine Semenyo, Omar Marmoush, and Savinho found the net for Pep Guardiola’s side, leading to a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace. This win brings City within two points of league leaders Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta’s squad is scheduled to face already-relegated Burnley on Monday, and a win would require City to triumph over Bournemouth the following day in order to keep the title race alive until the season’s end.

Both the Gunners and City have now played the same number of games (36), with Arsenal holding a slight edge of 79 points over their Manchester rivals. City’s commanding 3-0 win also bolstered their goal difference to 43, just ahead of Arsenal’s 42.

City is not engaged in Premier League action this weekend, as they prepare to battle Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium. Consequently, Guardiola opted to rotate his squad to rest key players like Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki, and Jeremy Doku for this crucial fixture.
