The Ghana national football team has officially qualified for the 2026 World Cup and is already gearing up for the tournament. An intriguing proposal is on the table regarding the squad selection, aimed at enhancing both team strength and financial support.

Details: According to Nahuel Lanzón, the Ghana Football Association is considering the inclusion of three players from the domestic league in their World Cup squad. This proposal is financially motivated, as FIFA will compensate $11,000 per day for each player called up. With participation in the group stage, the national team could potentially earn around $150,000.

The financial benefits would extend to three local clubs, which might significantly impact the development of the local league. In the long run, these funds could also provide crucial support to the federation itself.

Ghana is set to commence its World Cup campaign with a match against Panama on June 18, facing competition from England and Croatia in their group.
