FC Porto has moved to clarify rumors regarding a potential transfer for Robert Lewandowski, with club president Andre Villas-Boas emphasizing the financial impracticality of such a deal.

Speaking to the media, Villas-Boas addressed speculation that the Portuguese club was preparing to sign the 37-year-old Barcelona striker this summer. Despite Lewandowski’s impending status as a free agent, the Porto president confirmed that meeting the forward’s financial demands is not feasible.

“As you can imagine, even considering Lewandowski is financially impossible for us,” Villas-Boas stated.

Lewandowski’s contract with Barcelona is set to expire at the end of the current season, with no assurances of an extension at this time. This season, he has featured in 43 matches for Barcelona, scoring 18 goals and providing 4 assists. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market value at around 8 million euros.
