In a characteristically humble response, Leo Messi acknowledged his remarkable achievement after scoring a hat-trick against Cincinnati in the 13th round of the MLS. The 38-year-old Argentine forward was informed by a journalist that he had reached a milestone of 910 career goals.

Messi’s answer reflected his team-first mentality:

“Honestly, I didn’t know. As I’ve always said, I’m not particularly concerned about records. What matters more to me is helping my team win. Today we secured three points, and that’s the most important thing.” – Messi said.

This season in the MLS, Messi has been delivering impressive performances, contributing 12 goals and 4 assists in 14 matches for Inter Miami. Currently, he ranks second in the race for the MLS Golden Boot, trailing only Chicago Fire striker Hugo Cuypers, who has netted 13 goals.

Messi’s recent brace was pivotal in Inter Miami’s victory over Cincinnati.
