Manchester United‘s Enzo Kana-Biyik Returns After Loan to Lausanne-Sport

Young players often disappear from the spotlight after early moves abroad. At Manchester United, there is a growing focus on how the club will handle several teenage signings this summer, particularly after the academy season came to a close.

One of the lesser-seen arrivals from last year has now completed the first step of that pathway.

Enzo Kana-Biyik loan spell comes to an end

Enzo Kana-Biyik has officially returned to United after his loan spell with FC Lausanne-Sport came to an end, as announced by the club on X.

The Swiss side finished ninth in their domestic campaign, bringing an inconsistent season to a close.

Enzo Kana-Biyik joined United from Le Havre AC in July 2025 and was immediately sent to Switzerland as part of the club’s long-term development plan.

The move was viewed internally as a chance to expose the teenager to senior football quickly while remaining inside the INEOS network.

The 18-year-old’s season did not begin smoothly.

A severe knee sprain in training ruled him out for around eight weeks shortly after arriving, delaying his integration at Lausanne.

That injury disrupted momentum during a crucial adaptation period and limited the striker’s opportunities to build rhythm.

He still managed 25 appearances across all competitions, scoring once and adding one assist across the campaign.

While those numbers were modest, much of the season was about physical development and exposure to senior football rather than immediate output.

Before moving to England, Kana-Biyik had already attracted attention in France after scoring nine times for Le Havre’s U19 side and earning senior bench appearances.

United’s youth structure is now expected to assess him during pre-season rather than place him directly into the first-team group.

Because he is 19 in January and has already completed a year of senior football, the most likely route is through the club’s U21 setup rather than the U18s.

That means he is unlikely to be integrated into the under-18 squad that lost the FA Youth Cup final yesterday.

Instead, the striker is expected to join the U21 environment for the start of the new campaign, with another loan still possible depending on summer decisions.

With several academy forwards moving through the system, United will decide whether Kana-Biyik stays in Manchester or heads out again for more senior minutes.

After a season interrupted by injury, the coming months could prove more important than his first year away.
