Algerian winger Yacine Brahimi remains hopeful as the announcement for the squad for this summer’s tournament approaches. The event will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and Brahimi is eager to secure a final call-up to represent Les Fennecs.
In an interview with Ennahar TV, the international player expressed his enthusiasm regarding the upcoming announcement. Brahimi, who has had a strong season with Al-Gharafa in Qatar, recording 9 goals and 14 assists, stated that he feels prepared to contribute should the manager select him for the squad.
I’ll be in front of my TV for the squad announcement. It’s my last chance to play in a World Cup, after 2014. Despite the competition, I feel ready. If not, I’ll be supporting my country, as always. If I’m called up, it would be a dream come true. I remain optimistic.
Although Brahimi has not been called up to the Algerian national team for over a year, the 36-year-old left winger affirmed his commitment to supporting Algeria regardless of the outcome.
