French winger Bradley Barcola has emerged as a key summer transfer target for Liverpool. The Merseyside giants are reportedly applying intense pressure on both Paris Saint-Germain’s management and Barcola himself.
According to Le 10 Sport editor-in-chief Alexis Bernard, the 23-year-old France international is increasingly inclined toward making a move to Anfield. Liverpool’s interest in Barcola originally dates back to last summer when they made an attempt to sign him, but he ultimately chose to stay in Paris, motivated by his ambitions for Champions League success and securing a position in France’s World Cup squad. With those objectives now behind him, the situation has changed significantly.
Barcola’s eagerness to join Liverpool stems primarily from his current role at PSG. Frustrated with being used as a “super sub” and “joker” in Luis Enrique’s plans, he is determined to become a mainstay in the starting lineup and a pivotal figure in a long-term project. The opportunity to play in the Premier League under Liverpool’s ambitious management is seen as an ideal next step for his development.
During the current season, Barcola has made 47 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 7 assists.
