England’s focus is already beginning to shift toward next year’s Women’s World Cup, with the Lionesses aiming to return to the biggest stage and challenge for global honours in Brazil.

After a perfect qualifying run so far, the European champions know two more positive results will secure automatic qualification and avoid the uncertainty of the play-offs.

With those decisive fixtures now approaching, three Manchester United players have been rewarded for strong individual campaigns.

England women’s national football team have named three Manchester United Women players in their latest squad for crucial World Cup qualifiers against the Spain women’s national football team and the Ukraine women’s national football team.

Manchester United Trio Earn England Call-Ups

Ella Toone returns to the squad after missing several months with a hip issue, marking her first call-up since November.

Ella Toone missed the second half of the Women’s Super League campaign because of the injury, making her comeback a major boost for England ahead of two must-win qualifiers.

The Lionesses travel to Spain on 5 June before returning home to host Ukraine at Hill Dickinson Stadium on 9 June.

England currently top their qualification group after winning all four matches, including a key 1-0 victory over Spain at Wembley in April.

Victory in both remaining fixtures would confirm automatic qualification for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Joining Toone in the squad are Maya Le Tissier and Jess Park, giving United strong representation in the national side.

Le Tissier has become one of United’s most reliable players since joining from Brighton & Hove Albion Women in 2022 and has quickly developed into one of the team’s leaders.

At just 24, she captains United and has established herself as one of the standout centre-backs in the league, a season that also earned her a place in the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League Team of the Season.

Park has also enjoyed an impressive first campaign at Old Trafford after joining from rivals Manchester City Women on transfer deadline day in September.

The midfielder scored seven goals and added five assists across 26 appearances in all competitions, becoming one of Marc Skinner’s most important attacking players.

She too was included in the Women’s Super League Team of the Season, underlining the impact she has made in her first year at the club.

With Toone back fit and two teammates also selected, Manchester United will have a major presence as England look to take the final step toward next summer’s World Cup.
