In a tightly contested match, Kaizer Chiefs secured a 1-0 victory against AmaZulu in Durban, with Glody Lilepo scoring the decisive goal. However, the celebration turned sour for Chiefs as Lilepo received a red card shortly thereafter.

Cedriz Kaze, the coach of Kaizer Chiefs, labeled Lilepo’s suspension as an ‘unfortunate’ situation. The winger was shown a red card after receiving two yellow cards during the Betway Premiership encounter. His second booking came when he celebrated his goal by removing his shirt, an act that is considered a bookable offence.

Kaze acknowledged Lilepo’s passion, stating, “Sometimes you also understand the player, the passion and relief for scoring but it’s good that we have three points.” He further emphasized the need for caution in future celebrations, noting, “We need to be careful because he was already booked and he takes his shirt off as he celebrates.”

The coach expressed concern over missing Lilepo in the upcoming matches, saying, “Which means that we’re going to miss him in the last game. It’s an unfortunate situation.” The Chiefs are set to face Chippa United in their final PSL match on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
