Premier League Season Approaches Conclusion: Top Individual Performers Highlighted
As the 2025/26 Premier League season nears its end, Arsenal leads the standings while West Ham United faces relegation threats. Amidst these dynamics, we take a closer look at the standout individual performances throughout the campaign.
Now it’s time to unveil our Premier League team of the season. The lineup is mainly comprised of stars from Arsenal and Manchester City, but we’ve also included talented players from Brentford, Brighton, and West Ham.
GK: David Raya
David Raya has had an exceptional season, establishing himself as the standout goalkeeper in the league. A remarkable shot-stopper, he plays a crucial role for Arsenal, despite some difficulties with set-pieces. With William Saliba and Gabriel in defense, he managed to concede only 26 goals this season.
RB: Matheus Nunes
Matheus Nunes’ transition to right-back has been a highlight of Pep Guardiola’s tactics this year. Although he may depart the club at the season’s end, he has emerged as one of the world’s best full-backs. Initially struggling in central midfield, his crossing ability has flourished in this new role.
CB: Gabriel
Regarded as possibly the best centre-back globally, Gabriel’s performances this season have been compelling. Strong in aerial battles, he is a significant threat in attack as well, contributing three goals and four assists.
CB: Jan Paul van Hecke
While William Saliba’s numbers might suggest he deserves this position, Jan Paul van Hecke has had a stellar season with a less prominent squad. With added responsibilities due to Lewis Dunk’s age, Van Hecke has excelled, gaining three goals and three assists.
LB: Nico O’Reilly
Nico O’Reilly has made an impressive rise this season. At just 21 years old, the England international has emerged as the best young player in the league, netting five goals and providing four assists for Manchester City.
RM: Jarrod Bowen
Despite West Ham’s struggles, Jarrod Bowen’s individual statistics affirm his inclusion in this lineup. He has scored ten goals and provided eight assists, proving his worth even as the team faces potential relegation.
CM: Declan Rice
Declan Rice stands out as one of the top central midfielders in the world, demonstrating exceptional skills across all facets of the game. As Arsenal pushes towards the Premier League title, Rice has been an essential part of the team’s success, especially in the midfield.
CM: Bruno Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes continues to be a vital asset for Manchester United. Despite various challenges over the last six years, he remains a beacon of hope for the club, contributing 20 assists this season—only surpassed by Erling Haaland.
LM: Antoine Semenyo
Antoine Semenyo is unique in this lineup, having represented two clubs this season. Initially shining at Bournemouth, he successfully transitioned to Manchester City, finishing with 16 goals and four assists combined.
ST: Igor Thiago
Igor Thiago, unexpectedly one of the Premier League’s second-highest goalscorers this season, has also earned a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad due to his remarkable performances.
ST: Erling Haaland
Although this has not been Erling Haaland’s most prolific season with Manchester City, his contributions still warrant recognition. His tally of 26 goals and eight assists stands out, regardless of the team’s final placement.
