Celtic Clinches 56th Premiership Title After 3-1 Win Over Hearts

Celtic have officially emerged victorious in the Scottish Premiership, as they beat Hearts 3-1 in the final game of the season.

Despite Hearts leading for most of the campaign, hoping for a historic title-winning season, Celtic sealed their 56th Premiership title, extending their run as champions.

However, the club nearly had one of Manchester United’s attackers celebrating with them as they looked to sign Shea Lacey in January 2026.

Accademy Scoop have taken to X to explain the situation, saying that talks were held between clubs in the winter transfer window, with a loan move on the table.

Unfortunately, Lacey suffered a calf injury at the start of February 2026, which reportedly complicated the move, putting an end to the six-month temporary transfer to the Scottish giants.

However, they weren’t the only ones interested, with Marseille also looking at the talented youngster.

It’s understood that a loan move is still potentially on the cards for the 19-year-old, with Lacey impressing throughout the academy ranks, having made his debut for the senior side this season.

The winger made three cameo appearances for The Red Devils, making his debut under Ruben Amorim in a six-minute stint against Aston Villa in December 2025.

When Amorim was replaced by Darren Fletcher, the former midfielder called up Lacey for their Premier League draw against Burnley, getting another six minutes on the pitch, and their FA Cup clash with Brighton.

Unfortunately, his last appearance for United, against Brighton, isn’t one to be remembered for the youngster as his 27 minutes in the game ended with a second yellow, getting booked twice inside two minutes on the 87th and 89th minute marks.

However, The Red Devils are keeping an eye on his development, with him routinely taking part in first team training, bracing him for another attempt to join the seniors on the pitch.
