USM Alger triumphed over Zamalek SC in a thrilling penalty shoot-out to secure the title in the 2025–2026 Confederation Cup. The decisive second leg was held on Saturday, May 16, at the Cairo International Stadium.
After winning the first leg 1-0 in Algeria, USM Alger faced a tough challenge as Zamalek SC equalized the aggregate score to 1-1. Despite both teams having opportunities, the match remained scoreless through normal time, necessitating a penalty shoot-out.
In the shoot-out, USM Alger converted 8 penalties compared to Zamalek’s 7, clinching the championship title.
