Cameroonian coach David Pagou has expressed caution regarding the upcoming challenges faced by the Indomitable Lions in the African Cup of Nations. Cameroon has been placed in Group G, where they will compete against Comoros, Namibia, and Congo. Pagou believes that this group is evenly matched and has called for his team to maintain focus on their own performance.
Pagou emphasized the importance of taking every opponent seriously, stating that no African nation should be underestimated in today’s football landscape. “I’d say it’s a balanced group, but whenever Cameroon has focused on itself, I think things have always gone well. These are teams we must take very seriously,” he remarked.
He highlighted Namibia, with whom Cameroon has shared the same qualifying groups for three consecutive tournaments, as a particularly challenging opponent. Pagou also pointed out that the Republic of Congo should not be underestimated. “Every team is a force to be reckoned with. The prospect of playing against Cameroon will be an extra incentive for every nation,” he added.
