Algerian international Ilan Kebbal recently shared insights on the ambitions of the Fennecs on the global football stage. He expressed confidence that African teams have developed the capability to compete with leading football nations worldwide. Kebbal highlighted Morocco’s remarkable journey to the semi-finals at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as evidence of this potential.
In an interview with winwinallsports, Kebbal affirmed his belief in the Algerian team’s ability to achieve similar historic milestones. He commented on the challenges posed by the competition, while maintaining a hopeful outlook regarding Algeria’s prospects.
We know that the World Cup is a very tough competition. Naturally, we hope to go as far as possible. If Morocco managed to do it, that means other African teams can do it too, such as Senegal or Algeria. Why couldn’t we do it as well? The aim is to return home as late as possible and to stay at the World Cup for as long as possible.
Algeria is set to compete in Group J during the upcoming World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Fennecs will face Argentina, Austria, and Jordan in the group stage.
