Football often brings a mix of highs and lows, a sentiment echoed by Chelsea forward João Pedro after being excluded from Brazil’s final World Cup squad.

Following the announcement by Brazil’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti, the 24-year-old player took to social media to express his disappointment. Despite his feelings of regret, Pedro expressed determination to work even harder in the future.

“I’ve always given my all. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make this dream come true – representing my country at the World Cup. I’m staying calm and focused, as I always try to do… Joy and disappointment are both part of football. From this moment on, I wish the best of luck to everyone who made the squad, and I’ll just be another fan cheering them on to bring home that sixth World Cup title,” João Pedro wrote on his Instagram.

This season, Pedro played 49 matches for Chelsea, achieving a commendable record of 20 goals and 9 assists. However, those performances were not enough to secure a place in the World Cup squad, as emphasized by Ancelotti’s choices.
