Celtic Claims Dramatic League Title with Late Surge Against Hearts

On Saturday, Celtic clinched their most dramatic league title in recent history, securing a 3-1 victory over Hearts on the final day, highlighted by two late goals.

This crucial match demanded players to rise to the occasion, and they certainly delivered. Arne Engels, Daizen Maeda, and Callum Osmand, who contributed both a goal and an assist, all made significant impacts at the attacking end of the pitch.

Defensive efforts also stood out, particularly from central defender Liam Scales, who played a vital role in thwarting the visitors’ attacks.

As a recognition of his performance, the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has included Scales in their Team of the Week for the final game week of the 25/26 season. Interestingly, he is the only player from Martin O’Neill’s side to receive this accolade.

Meanwhile, Osmand, despite coming off the bench, may feel a bit overlooked. He assisted Maeda for the crucial second goal with an expertly timed run and later scored the third goal that sealed the win and the championship.

Nonetheless, Scales’ consistent performance throughout the split has earned him this well-deserved recognition.
