Nigerian winger Zadok Abu Yohanna will not participate in the Super Eagles’ 2026 Unity Cup campaign in London, as his club, AIK Football, has chosen not to release him for international duty.

AIK confirmed that Yohanna is currently in the final stages of rehabilitation and is not yet fully prepared to return to competitive football. Following an assessment of his condition, the club decided to keep him in Sweden to complete his recovery program.

The Swedish club emphasized Yohanna’s growing significance within their squad, identifying him as a key player in their strategic plans. This factor also contributed to their decision to retain him during a particularly demanding period.

The Unity Cup is set to take place in London from May 26 to May 30, 2026.
