Harry Maguire’s journey in football has spanned from his beginnings at Sheffield United’s Academy to earning 66 caps for England, making 290 appearances in the Premier League, and establishing himself as a key defender for Manchester United.

He has proudly captained his national team, celebrated victories at Old Trafford, and earned recognition as one of the most steadfast defenders of his era.

However, his story is not over, as Maguire has officially penned a one-year contract extension with Manchester United, ensuring another season under the guidance of Michael Carrick.

At 33 years old, Maguire is also contemplating his future. According to a report by Trainingground Guru, he is the co-founder of Feedz, an innovative AI-powered app aimed at transforming how coaches provide feedback to young athletes.

This platform allows coaches to convert voice notes into structured performance reports in less than a minute.

Maguire, who has completed his UEFA B Licence and is working towards his A Licence, envisions Feedz as both a business initiative and a valuable resource for his anticipated coaching career.

Speaking about the app, Maguire remarked: “Better feedback builds better players. I’ve always believed feedback is so important and can make you a much better player.”

Maguire added: “I don’t think it was as good as it can be in Academies. There’s so much time these coaches have to put into sessions.

“They can’t really give too much feedback to each individual player. This is where Feedz can step in.”

The app is designed to be straightforward; coaches can add their players and record feedback directly on their phones after sessions.

Within 20 to 60 seconds, the AI generates a structured report detailing strengths, areas for improvement, recommendations, next steps, and relevant professional examples, which can be easily shared via WhatsApp, email, or as a branded PDF.

According to estimates by the Football Association, Feedz can save coaches the equivalent of a full day each week in administrative tasks.

The app was developed by co-founder Matthew White, a former advertising executive who grew frustrated with the lack of meaningful feedback on his daughter’s gymnastics progress.

Sheffield United’s Academy has implemented Feedz for age groups ranging from Under-8s to Under-18s, a significant connection for Maguire.

Matt Morley, the club’s Junior Head of Coaching, recalls working with Maguire when he was just eight years old, remembering a young midfielder who “thought he was Pirlo” but was dedicated to improving.

Morley now utilizes the app with his coaching staff, noting that report-writing time has decreased from nearly an hour to just minutes.

Academies at both Manchester United and Tottenham are also testing the platform, while the FA has introduced it at the grassroots level; Powerleague, Table Tennis England, and three county cricket clubs have signed on as well.
