The 40-year-old forward, who joined the team as a free agent in 2021, has had a significant impact, playing 134 matches, during which he scored 25 goals and provided 22 assists.
This move marks a new phase for Podolski, who has become a true legend at Górnik Zabrze. His current contract with the club is set to expire at the end of the season, although it remains unclear whether he will retire from playing or take on the dual role of player-owner.
Currently, Górnik Zabrze is performing well in the Polish Ekstraklasa, sitting in 2nd place and poised for a possible Champions League appearance next season.
