Andre Signs Long-Term Contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers
Over the last two years, Manchester United have been linked with several of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ star players.
Last summer saw Matheus Cunha leave Wolves for Old Trafford for £62.5 million, kickstarting United’s attacking rebuild.
However, alongside him, as The Red Devils have been looking to rebuild their midfield, a couple of Wolves players have been considered.
Joao Gomes was considered in the winter transfer window as an opportunity signing, with André being looked to last summer.
Now, André has committed his long-term future to the club, signing a contract until 2030.
Confirming the new deal, Wolves took to their official website, saying: “André has committed his future to Wolves by signing a new four-year contract with the club.”
The statement continued: “The popular midfielder, who has played 74 times for Wolves over the past two campaigns, will be part of next season’s rebuild in the Championship, having signed a new deal until 2030, with the option of a further year.
“The 24-year-old moved to Wolverhampton in August 2024 from Fluminense, where he’d spent his whole career until that point, and enjoyed a strong first season in English football.
“Twice voted Player of the Month by supporters in his debut campaign, André brought both solidity and quality on the ball to the midfield and was instrumental to the club’s Premier League survival.
“While this term has been tougher for the club, with relegation confirmed last month, André has remained consistent and his first goal in old gold was a dramatic injury time winner against Liverpool at Molineux in March.”
Now, André will be bracing to help Wolves return to the Premier League after being relegated this season at the bottom of the table.
