Former Manchester United Players Celebrate Cup Successes Worldwide
As the end of the season approaches, cup competitions are beginning to be decided across the world.
For Manchester United, however, this is not the case having been knocked out of the Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup at early stages while also no longer being in a position to challenge for the Premier League, which was won by Arsenal earlier this week.
Former Manchester United players, as well as those currently out on loan from Old Trafford, continue to find success, however.
Andre Onana is one of these, recently winning the Turkish Cup with Trabzonspor, marking his first trophy with the club.
Marcus Rashford also achieved success while on loan, winning LaLiga with Barcelona, putting him in a strong position as the club considers his future.
Meanwhile, Ona Batlle, a former player for Manchester United’s women’s side, has won the Women’s Champions League with Barcelona after defeating OL Lyonnes in the final.
Ewa Pajor starred, scoring two goals in the second half, while Salma Paralluelo added a brace late in the match to secure a dominant 4-0 victory for Barcelona.
The defender has made 112 appearances for Barca since leaving Manchester United in 2023.
During her time at the Red Devils, the Spanish international made 75 appearances, scoring three times, having previously played for Levante, Madrid CFF, and Barcelona.
This is not the first time Batlle has won the Women’s Champions League with Barcelona, as she previously celebrated this achievement during the 2023-24 campaign.
Alongside her success in Europe this season, Ona Batlle has also thrived domestically, winning the Liga F with a team that lost just once in 28 matches.
While the focus may now shift to celebrating this achievement, attention may also turn to preparing for upcoming international games against England, where she could reunite with former teammates, and Iceland.
