England’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup have been marred by a significant criminal incident. According to reports from Sky Sports, Missouri state police have arrested two individuals in connection with the theft of equipment and training gear belonging to the Three Lions.
The theft occurred during the team’s transfer from Florida to Kansas City, just before Gareth Southgate’s men were scheduled to begin their first training session. Thieves reportedly broke into the team vehicle, stealing a substantial amount of essential property, including personal boots belonging to star players Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham.
Along with the players’ footwear, the stolen goods included expensive analytics equipment, tactical boards utilized by the coaching staff, and even massage tables. Local law enforcement in Kansas City responded promptly, apprehending two persons of interest in the case.
As England contemplates these challenges, their first match of the tournament is set for Wednesday, June 17, at 22:00 Central European Time, where they will face Croatia as their opening opponent.
