A high-profile criminal scandal has reportedly unfolded at the England national team’s base, taking a significant legal turn. Two men have been formally charged in connection with the theft of kit and personal belongings from the English delegation.

According to a UOL journalist, if convicted, each suspect could face substantial prison sentences ranging from 1 to 7 years. Among the items stolen were personalized boots belonging to team captain Harry Kane and first-choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, which were intended for upcoming tournament matches.

Local police, in partnership with the World Cup security service, acted swiftly to investigate the matter, prioritizing the case to ensure a prompt resolution. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that part of the stolen property has been recovered and returned to its owners, with representatives from the England squad expressing their gratitude for the police’s efforts.

Despite the recovery, the incident has raised concerns, prompting tournament organizers to reevaluate the security measures at team hotels and training facilities.
