Despite France clinching a dramatic 3-1 victory, there was reason to celebrate for Senegal’s Ibrahim Mbaye. The young winger, playing for PSG, found the back of the net, reigniting hope for his nation.
With this goal, Mbaye became the youngest African goalscorer in World Cup history. At just 18 years old, he set a new all-time record, surpassing the previous milestone held by Moussa Wagué, who scored against Japan in 2018 at the age of 19 years and 263 days.
