The Canadian government has denied a visa to Elye Wahi, a 23-year-old forward for the Ivorian national team and Club Nice. This decision prevents Wahi from entering Canada to participate in an upcoming match against Germany.
According to reports from The Athletic, the visa denial is linked to an ongoing investigation involving Wahi concerning match-fixing allegations. Under Canadian law, such circumstances disqualify him from obtaining a visa.
As a result of this ruling, Wahi will not be available to contribute to his national team in the friendly match scheduled for June 20 at BMO Field in Toronto.
