Manuel Neuer has confirmed that this World Cup will mark his final appearance for the German national team. The 40-year-old Bayern Munich goalkeeper announced his plans to retire from international football following the tournament.
In a recent statement, Neuer made it clear that fans should not expect to see him at Euro 2028. He stated,
“This will be my LAST tournament for the German national team. I don’t plan to take part in the European Championship in two years. I want to look forward to every match and not think about farewells or whether it’s my last game.”
Neuer, who made his debut for Germany in 2009, has since played 125 matches for Die Mannschaft. During his tenure, he has conceded 119 goals while achieving 50 clean sheets.
