Former West Ham and Jamaica national team striker Michail Antonio is scheduled for a retrial after his previous guilty verdict related to a traffic violation was overturned. The 36-year-old footballer had been facing sentencing following a conviction in absentia in April for failing to provide driver information regarding an incident in March 2025 in Birmingham.

During the initial proceedings, it was revealed that Antonio’s Lamborghini Urus was recorded speeding at 50 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone. However, he asserted at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court that he had transferred ownership of the vehicle to a sales company months prior to the alleged offence and was no longer its proprietor.

Antonio also cited a serious injury sustained in a Ferrari crash in December 2024, which rendered him unable to drive at the time of the incident. Following these claims, the judge quashed the guilty verdict, and the case is set to be reviewed again in March of the following year.
