The Germany national team faced an unexpected challenge during their second group stage match of the World Cup against Ivory Coast when defender Nico Schlotterbeck was injured early in the game.
Schlotterbeck sustained the injury during a challenge with Amad Diallo. Despite experiencing discomfort, he managed to continue playing and completed the first half of the match.
However, in the second half, Germany’s head coach Julian Nagelsmann made the decision to substitute Schlotterbeck, bringing on Antonio Rüdiger to take his place.
