The Dutch national football team has reached a historic milestone at the 2026 FIFA World Cup by defeating Sweden 5-1 in their group stage match. This win marks the Netherlands’ 14th consecutive unbeaten match at World Cups, setting a new all-time record for the tournament.
With this achievement, the Oranje have surpassed the legendary Brazil team from the Pelé era (1958–1966), becoming the first national side to go 14 consecutive World Cup matches without a defeat. The Dutch have not lost in the tournament since the final of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where they were defeated by Spain in extra time.
