Tuchel has been a great influence in football in the recent past and even won the Champions League trophy in 2022 with Chelsea in his first year at the club. Serial winner by pedigree, the German coach might be the answer to all English fans’ prayers. He will be scrutinised at every juncture and will have to comply with being in the limelight.
He missed the pyrotechnics and fireworks, the loud drum-and-bass song called “Thomas Tuchel’s Army” that the Football Association had commissioned in his honor, and the enormous banner that welcomed him to “The Home of Football” that stretched over one end of the stadium.
Every fan was excited by the thrilling atmosphere and eager to see their favorite players don the blue and white jersey once more, thus the sights at Wembley Stadium were spotless.
Thomas Tuchel’s Tactics
Thomas Tuchel went for a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Manchester City’s Phil Foden on the right and on-loan Aston Villa attacker Marcus Rashford on the left, which did not prove a roaring success. Jude Bellingham was playing at his usual best and also recorded an assist for the first goal. Harry Kane also scored a late goal to seal the game.
The midfield double pivot of Declan Rice and Curtis Jones was also very aggressive as they were quick in shifting the ball from left to right and also helped in attacking plays.
The backline was Kyle Walker on the right fullback, Myles Lewis-Skelly on the left back and the centre-back pairing of Ezre Konsa and Dan Burn.
“We can do better, we have to do better.”

After the game England’s new boss said “we hope for more impact in these positions” and that “they were not as decisive as they can be”.
But the decision to give Arsenal left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly a debut was a masterstroke as he became the youngest player to score on his senior England debut, aged 18 years and 176 days.
Thomas Tuchel’s straightforward style is in contrast with the calm, almost polite Southgate, and he confirmed his views when he stated, “We can do better, we have to do better.”
Tuchel quickly left Wembley’s tunnel after the first three points were gained, allowing his team to perform a lap of gratitude, even though thousands of spectators had already left long before the game was over.
