Details have surfaced regarding midfielder Thomas Partey’s departure from Arsenal nearly a year ago. In the summer of 2025, Partey became embroiled in a high-profile criminal case, facing allegations of multiple rapes. The player was placed under investigation and released on bail while awaiting the legal proceedings’ outcome.
He was charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving several women. Reports indicated that the case expanded to encompass seven incidents involving four different alleged victims.
Despite the ongoing legal issues, Arsenal, particularly manager Mikel Arteta, attempted to negotiate an extended contract for the Ghanaian midfielder. The club sought to include clauses that would offer protection in the event of prosecution; however, no agreement was reached.
As a result, Partey transferred to Villarreal, where he made 32 appearances during the season but did not register any goals or assists. It has been confirmed that the midfielder will leave the Spanish club at the end of the current campaign.
