Former Arsenal F.C. goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has officially committed his international future to the Nigeria national football team. The 24-year-old expressed his enthusiasm about becoming eligible to represent Nigeria at the senior level during an interview with the Super Eagles media team.

Okonkwo described the opportunity to play for his country as a privilege, stating, “I am extremely excited and eagerly await the opportunity.” He added that he had been anticipating this moment for a considerable time, highlighting the significance of his eligibility.

He said, “I have been looking forward to this moment for quite some time, and to finally have the chance is remarkable.

“The process began last summer when I spoke with the manager and the goalkeeping coach. They expressed their interest in me, and the discussions were very encouraging. Since then, we have been working to finalize my switch from England to Nigeria,” he continued.
