AmaZulu coach Arthur Zwane has expressed his admiration for Orlando Pirates, labeling them as a formidable opponent in the current Betway Premiership season. Following a 3-0 defeat to Pirates last Saturday, Zwane acknowledged the impressive performance of the Sea Robbers, led by coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
Zwane noted that Pirates’ tactical flexibility is a significant challenge for their rivals. “What makes Pirates difficult to face is their tactical flexibility; it’s unstoppable,” he stated. The coach emphasized his preference for versatile players, highlighting that Pirates excel in having players who can adapt to various attacking roles.
The AmaZulu coach further elaborated on Pirates’ ability to confuse and unlock defenses. He pointed out their skill in overloading positions, allowing multiple players to contribute to scoring opportunities. “They are very dynamic. When they overload with full-backs, they are very comfortable,” he added, emphasizing that the team’s offensive strength comes from a collective effort rather than relying solely on strikers.
Highlighting the importance of player dynamics, Zwane praised the Pirates’ ball control and their attacking structure, mentioning players like Yanela Mbuthuma and Evidence Makgopa as key contributors. “The identity is there, and that’s the reason they are the best team in the country right now,” he concluded.
