Barcelona is actively seeking to bolster its squad as the club contends with strict financial fair play regulations and a constrained budget. The Catalan side has turned its attention to Ukrainian winger Viktor Tsygankov, who currently plays for Girona.

Details: As reported by Diario SPORT, the 28-year-old winger has emerged as a potential addition to Barcelona’s roster, viewed by the club’s board as a cost-effective option to enhance their attacking line. This move would potentially allow the club to allocate funds for other high-profile signings.

Head coach Hansi Flick considers Tsygankov a valuable asset, describing him as a versatile “joker” who can adapt to multiple positions. His ability to effectively cover both flanks, the playmaker role, and even function as a false nine showcases his utility, particularly after excelling under coach Míchel at Girona.

In recent developments, Tsygankov has informed Girona management of his intention to leave following the team’s relegation to the Segunda. Under a gentleman’s agreement, he is entitled to exit the club as a free agent, incurring no transfer fee.

Although Barcelona can secure Tsygankov without a financial commitment, the club aims to preserve its relationship with Girona. To support Girona’s new venture in the Segunda, Barcelona may consider loaning several promising talents from their prestigious La Masia academy.

Recall: Barcelona has already identified a replacement for Julián Álvarez, who recently moved to the Premier League.
