Casemiro to Depart Manchester United After Four Years at Old Trafford
Casemiro is set to leave Manchester United at the end of this season, concluding a four-year tenure at Old Trafford.
During his time at the club, the Brazilian international made 159 appearances, scoring 26 goals and providing 13 assists. His impact during set pieces has been significant, with many of his goals coming from dead ball situations.
The midfielder looks poised to join Inter Miami after concluding his time at United this summer, having reportedly agreed to terms with the American club. He could potentially play his last match at Old Trafford on Sunday against Nottingham Forest.
As the season wraps up, reports from SunSport indicate that Casemiro believes he could have had more playing time at Manchester United had Michael Carrick been appointed manager earlier. The report suggests Carrick has implemented measures to ensure players maintain their fitness levels, allowing for more frequent appearances and enhancing the chances of longer-term play.
Earlier this week, the midfielder expressed his support for Carrick in securing the permanent managerial role as the club looks to appoint a new coach over the summer. Casemiro stated, “The team plays very good. He will win any games. The team improves day by day. Game by game the team improves.”
He added, “So, for me, it’s a big problem because in my opinion he deserved this opportunity. So, especially for me, because he played in the midfield, he talked with me as a midfielder to a midfielder, it’s easier. He deserves the opportunity because the team is very comfortable. The team plays very good. We have big wins.”
While Casemiro will not be present to see Carrick take over the team permanently, his contributions have nevertheless played a key role in the team’s successes. Though his departure may leave some supporters disappointed, his work has established a strong foundation for expectations at Old Trafford.
