Czechia’s head coach Miroslav Koubek is advocating for the closure of the roof at the Mercedes Benz Stadium during their upcoming World Cup match against South Africa. Koubek expressed concerns about the extreme heat in the USA, emphasizing the need for a cooler environment during the game.

“It’s important that they close the roof for us against South Africa. Playing in that heat is a bit scary,” he stated, as reported by Czech outlet Denik.

Both teams are entering this match after suffering defeats in their opening games, with South Africa losing to Mexico and Czechia falling to South Korea. Koubek noted that the weather is their only significant concern, as they remain focused on securing a victory in this crucial tie.

South Africa shares this urgency, with their hopes of advancing to the next round reliant on a win. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6 PM South African time tomorrow.
