The defender is poised to embark on a new challenge in an unfamiliar role, as Bayern Munich prepares to officially announce Dante’s return.
According to esteemed journalist Florian Plettenberg on his social media platform X, the 42-year-old center-back from Nice is set to rejoin Bayern at the conclusion of the current season.
Dante is expected to retire from professional football and take on the role of head coach for Bayern’s U23 youth team, succeeding the current manager, Holger Seitz. In addition to this position, he will also oversee Bayern’s youth team in the Youth League.
During his previous tenure at Bayern from 2012 to 2015, Dante made 133 appearances, scoring 5 goals and assisting with 8. Following his time with Bayern, he transferred to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015 for €4.5 million.
