Dominic Solanke’s Season May Be Over for Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur is facing a serious risk of relegation from the Premier League this season. The fate of head coach Roberto De Zerbi, who is under a five-year contract, remains uncertain despite his commitment to remain at the club.
Spurs managed their first victory under De Zerbi last weekend by defeating relegated Wolverhampton, winning 1-0 thanks to a second-half goal from substitute Joao Palhinha. Although this win bolstered their survival chances as they head into the last four matches, it came at a significant cost for De Zerbi.
Xavi Simons and Dominic Solanke both left the match against Wolves due to injuries. Simons sustained a cruciate ligament injury and is expected to be out until 2027 after surgery. His injury represents a major setback for Tottenham as they fight to remain in the Premier League.
Solanke, on the other hand, hurt his hamstring around the 40th minute, requiring on-field treatment and limping off the pitch. De Zerbi described it as a muscular injury, stating it was “not a big problem,” but he was unclear on how many matches the striker would miss. Recent updates on Solanke’s condition are now emerging.
Dominic Solanke Could Miss Rest of the Season
According to a report from The Telegraph, early scans indicate that Solanke may have sustained a grade-two hamstring injury, typically requiring three to eight weeks for complete recovery. This situation raises the likelihood that the 28-year-old could join the list of Spurs players who will not participate for the remainder of the season.
Tottenham has already been impacted by long-term injuries to Cristian Romero, Mohammed Kudus, and Simons. Concerns are mounting that Solanke may not be able to return before the end of the campaign, with only four matches remaining. If confirmed, his grade-two hamstring injury would mark a challenging close to an injury-riddled second season for the striker.
