Man City Secures 3-0 Victory Against Crystal Palace, Narrowing Gap on Arsenal

  • Man City beat Palace 3-0 to keep the pressure on Arsenal in the EPL title race

  • The Gunners are still in the driving seat, given their ‘easy’ run of fixtures

  • City are involved in FA Cup action this weekend against Chelsea

The Premier League title race might extend to the final day unless Burnley produces a remarkable performance against Arsenal at the Emirates next week. Antoine Semenyo, Omar Marmoush, and Savinho scored for Man City as they defeated Crystal Palace 3-0, reducing the gap to two points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta’s team is set to face already-relegated Burnley on Monday, and a win would require City to triumph over Bournemouth 24 hours later to keep the title race alive for the final day of the season.

After playing an equal number of matches (36), Arsenal leads with 79 points, just ahead of City. The 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace also improved City’s goal difference to 43, compared to Arsenal’s 42.

This weekend, City will not compete in the Premier League, as they prepare to challenge Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley stadium. Consequently, Guardiola opted to rotate his squad, resting key players like Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki, and Jeremy Doku from the starting eleven.
