The World Cup in North America is generating headlines not only for the thrilling football matches but also for unexpected dangers off the pitch. Tensions escalated within the German national team when a venomous snake was discovered at their training center.

Joshua Kimmich, a key player for the German squad, revealed in an interview with the respected German outlet BILD that the presence of the snake has left the team’s staff and players on high alert. The reptile’s appearance has forced the squad to avoid their usual routines around the training base.

“Yesterday we saw the snake, and we were told it was poisonous. If it bites you, you have to go to the hospital immediately. I don’t think it’s deadly, but it’s definitely very dangerous… In Germany, I always felt like we just don’t have so many dangerous animals,” Joshua Kimmich openly shared his emotions.

In a separate incident during the same tournament, referee Shaun Evans faced accusations of racism while officiating the Germany vs Curaçao match.
