Kaizer Chiefs have announced the appointment of Bheki Shongwe as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer. Shongwe, who has served as a club director, will assume this role as the previous position had remained vacant for some time.
According to a club statement, “Mr. Shongwe is no stranger to the Kaizer Chiefs family. He has been serving as a non-executive director on the current Board of Directors while successfully managing his own businesses.” Previously, he held the role of Managing Director from 2009 to 2012, bringing extensive knowledge of the organization and its operations to his new position.
In his capacity as CEO, Shongwe will oversee the day-to-day operations of the club, reporting directly to the Chairman and the Board. He will also collaborate closely with heads of various departments. The statement emphasized that he will assist Chairman Dr. Kaizer Motaung in managing the organization to ensure continued success both on and off the field.
Kaizer Chiefs are set to face AmaZulu on Saturday in a Betway Premiership match, having already secured the third spot in the current standings.
