The match began with a strong start from Kano Pillars, as Musa opened the scoring to put his team ahead. In response, Rivers United equalized through Surajudeen Hassan, known as Handsome Surveyor, bringing the score to 1–1.
The encounter remained tied until late in the second half when Musa found the net again, marking his sixth goal of the season. This crucial strike restored Kano Pillars’ lead and ultimately secured them all three points.
